Thank you!

Thank you all so much for your wonderful support of the Cake Sales so far this year. It has been tremendous! Thanks to the sales, we were able to buy 10 copies of the World Health Organisation's Pocket Book of Hospital Care for Children to donate to the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital in Banjul. These book was recommended as a purchase by Prof. Steve Allen, and you can access information about the book, and indeed the full text here.

Auction of Promises 2010

On Wednesday 3rd of February 2010, we are going to attempt to recreate the success of last years Auction of Promises. This will take place from 7pm in the Vault (underneath No Sign Wine Bar). The event was thoroughly enjoyed last year and raised a massive £3000.

This year we can already announce some exciting lots! We are fortunate enough to have been given a weeks stay in a holiday home in Ireland. The house is on the waterfront in the west of Ireland just on the border of Galway and Clare - just 40 mins drive from Lahinch, one of the top surf spots in Ireland. We have also been promised a candlelit dinner in a motor home and an Irish hosted dinner party for 8 people!

But, we are still searching for more promises - anything you can offer; from welsh translation and surf lessons, to car washing or even a tour of the Gower....we need your help! Previous promises have ranged from: Aidan Byrne's Car Washing to "The Jonathan Mullins Mountaineering Experience", and from "Twitching and Pubbing with Paul Griffiths in the Gower" to "Bikini Car Wash with Katie, Cassie and Carl".

For those who wish to provide a promise or would like to know more about the event please contact the SGL Co-Ordinators:
